Not the best book I've read, I think it's showing its age. Set in the early 90's NZ it's a reminder of the times. I felt like the author wasn't sure if he was writing a romance novel or somehow trying present the arguments for both conservation and exploitation of the South Island high country.
This novel has been made into a TV mini-series, as with many of these, the book is much better. Lots of sciency concepts and some deep thinking, but still easy to follow. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. This is the first of three novels, The Dark Forest, & Death's End are the other two.
A good light summer read. Stephanie Plum needs money so becomes a bounty hunter. A bit of romance, violence and mystery.
A sad, sad piece of American history. Disturbed my sleep until I finished reading it.
A real mystery with interesting characters and a twist at the end.
A dark, novel, almost black humour. The ending wasn't quite as I expected it to be.
A moving story about the women who served in Vietnam.
A light read, perfect for the holidays. Not a rom-com.
