A very exciting children's book that kept me gripped and enthralled. I loved it, as I have loved all of Katherine Rundell's books, and I'm not usually a fan of fantasy.
I love historical fiction and really enjoyed this book. At times it's not really believable, but the characters are so likeable and the themes so real, that it's compelling.
I wasn't going to read this book as it's described as a thriller, which is not my genre, but it was, as it says on the cover, gripping and enthralling, and I didn't guess the murdered until quite near the end of the book. I enjoyed the twists in the plot but thought the characters were quite samey - flawed in similar ways.
A sweet love story with an adventure woven through, as you'd expect for Nicholas Sparks. I enjoyed it as a summer read.
Set in the Second World War, this book celebrates the courage of the women who risked their lives to save others. Exciting, horrifying, sad but ultimately good and right.
