Olympia is a beautiful young girl on the cusp of adulthood. Having been raised and educated by her astute father she is intelligent and perceptive, her thoughts and intentions expressed so beautifully throughout the novel intimate a young woman very much aware of herself and her surroundings in this turn of the century coming of age story. Highly recommend.
A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire

The second book in the 'From Blood and Ash' series follows Poppy as she learns more about the Ascended and what they represent. Her decision to stay with Hawke seems mutually beneficial but it is painful at times that she doesn't see what's right in front of her face - given she's meant to be quite smart. However, the love story and the intrigue in enough to keep you reading and hungry for more.

She is so drawn to one of the boys in the family that she can't keep away from him, even though he seems pretty weird. Circumstances throw them together and things develop pretty quickly from there. If you're into magical powers and romance with a side of sadness then you may enjoy this read.

If you like fantasy and a twisted love story, you'll enjoy these books.
