This book would be great for those who dont often read non-fiction, it's an easy read, and like talking to a friend whos really into cults. (How I feel many of my friends feel our conversations go). I was hoping for a bit of a deeper dive in to the language of cults, but was left feeling as though the surface was barely scratched.

Maria Bamford's witty humour shines through as she tells the story of her life, mental illness, and near obsession with a variety of 12 step programs. Just like getting to know someone in person, as you read through the book Bamford slowly peels back the protective comedic wall to reveal the deeper parts of herself. With nothing left off the table Bamford is a classic oversharer and proud of it. You can tell that her true intention is to feel as though she belongs in this world and that other people feeling the same can find comfort in her company.
