The world of gamers is not something I know too much about. This was an intriguing insight and captured me from the start.

  • Lola in the Mirror

    By Trent Dalton
    5 stars

Trent Dalton relay knows how to bring characters in to your mind’s eye. The central character (she has no name) is a house less person living on the banks of the Brisbane river. She has a traumatic life but knows she is destined for more. The characters she encounters are real and raw, drawn by Dalton through 5 years hanging out among the houseless community in Brisbane. An excellent read.

This is a beautifully written non fiction book which follows Dave’s love of rafting, and climbing in New Zealand. An accident in the mountains leaves him a tetraplegic. His reflection on his relationship with the mountains before and after the accident is great reading.
