Anna has started her new summer job as a nanny in Hamptons Village but she soon realises she looks very similar to a young girl who recently has disappeared. Then Anna starts having flash backs about the girl who has disappeared. What has really happened and are Anna's flash backs real? Really enjoying this teen mystery, it's keeping me on the edge of my seat.
A really interesting memoir of a young girls experience of the Cultural Revolution in China. I learnt a lot from this book and it has inspired me to read more books about this topic as I have realised how little I know about this time in China.
A true story about young teens and women who work for Bletchley Park, a secret operation that cracked codes and ciphers to help win the war against Germany.
A very enthralling read about World War II and the Berlin Wall. First book I've read about World War II set in Germany. Two time lines and two narratives, a mum and her daughter so keeps it really interesting. A mum is separated from her baby when the Berlin wall goes up and her daughter tries to get him back.
Very comforting devotional.
Teen fantasy book about two sisters and the hunt for a legendary relic that needs to be found to save their queen from an evil mage. Another enthralling read from the author Rebecca Ross.
Excellent book, my favourite this holiday so far. A teen historical book set in the 1930's during the Ukrainian famine. There are three protagonist, one 13 year old male living in the present in the USA, one 13 year old girl living in the 1930's in the USA and one 13 year old girl living in the Ukraine in the 1930's. Between the three different protagonists, they tell a story about the Holodomor. The story is engaging, educational, interesting and moving.
Although maybe not the best written book, I did enjoy this teen thriller. It was full of suspense and kept me hooked until the end.
Loved this biography of CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien. It's a beautiful book which would make a wonderful gift. It's part graphic novel and part story with beautiful illustrations. A wonderful and interesting read.
This is the first Kate Atkinson book I have read and I really enjoyed it. It has a lot of characters and story lines so can get a bit confusing at times, though they all eventually link together. It can be quite funny at times but also very sad as well.
A teen fantasy set in the Islands about the search for seadragons to obtain their dragonfruit which grants you what you wish. The only trouble is the wish comes with a price and also everyone good and bad are after the dragonfruit.
Four teens get lost in the Paris Catacombs and then someone sinister goes after them.
This is the second adult cozy fantasy I have read and I really enjoy this genre. Witches are meant to keep themselves secret and to keep themselves apart from each other so their magic doesn't give themselves away. Mika Moon has kept herself alone most of her life but finds herself in a new role of teaching three young witches magic. Here she begins to learn about family, friendship and love.
Read this one very fast!! A real page turner. A group of friends go on a camping trip but secrets come to light and tempers flare!
I thought this was a mystery but it's more about family and friendship and coming to terms with the past. Brodie returns to live with Nan from boarding school and rekindles her friendship with Levi and Elliot and starts re-reading unclaimed letters from the past and tries to solve the mystery of who the letter writers were and where are they now.
A teen fairy tale fantasy about choosing the right path and the battle between good vs evil.
A hilarious mystery book for teens. Thoroughly enjoyed the humour and I always love a mystery.
