    This was the first time I read one of his books, and really enjoyed it. Hana a cop was evolved with breaking up a protest 18 years before, when she was a new cop. Someone starts murdering people, and leaving a koru pattern behind. Hana has to figure out the significance, so that she can stop him and save members of her family .

    This story was about a couple who immigrated from England in 1860s, to take up farming in the Canterbury Highlands. The husband goes off surveying, and eventually goes over to the West Coast to go gold mining. His wife is left to work their farm, which she enjoys.
