A reimagining of different worlds coming together. Weirdly enjoyable.
Really enjoy this series, started reading last year, bought the next three but then never progressed. This is one of those texts that sits in your head and although enjoyable, doesn't make you want to power through it. Very much a slow processing to fully grasp everything.
A war story that isn't a war story, an average soldiers unexceptional life told in a fascinating way. A life of little memories made into a whole. Weird but I enjoyed it, but can't explain why. Feels like one of those books that stays in your head for a while after you finish it.
On my however many # reread, I still enjoy it.
A short story about human reliance on technology and our own destruction. A home continues to 'live' even when we are all dead. Cool little story, reminded me of the short animation 'Last day of war' by Dima Fedotov on youtube about AI fighting humanities wars even after humanity is gone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wWISxGhorU
I can see how students/teens might respond to this novel, but the 'written in prose' style can wear on you. I didn't finish it.
Really accessible to a teen audience in a way that The Handmaids Tale isn't. Poignant and full of lessons very relevant to todays world.
