Historical novel set in Greece from 1930 through to now.A family story depicting the many turbulent times the Greek people had to live through. I enjoyed it and found it educational.

  • One Hundred Names

A lovely story about taking time to learn a person's story.Good holiday reading.

  • The Girl You Left Behind.

    By JoJo Moyes
    4 stars

Turned out I had read it before, but I enjoyed it enough to keep reading. It starts in France during the First World War and continues to London in the early 2000's.

  • The Hidden Girl

    By Lucinda Riley
    4 stars

A rewrite of the authors first book.Typical of her other books. An easy summer holidays read.

  • Death at the Sign of the Rook

    By Kate Atkinson
    2 stars

Too much background on the characters. It went on too long and I wanted the story to progress. After skimming to see if it improved, but I gave up reading it.

  • The Art of Love

    By Mark Porath
    1 stars

Self published. Given to me by the author, who I had just met. (Lives in my street)I felt as though it was written for children as the protagonists are cats. it didn't appeal to me.

  • A Death in Cornwall

    By Daniel Silva
    4 stars

The latest in the Gabriel Allon Spy series. Predictable , but he always incorporates current events into the plot. Good holiday reading.

  • All the Colours of the Dark

    By Chris Whittaker
    4 stars

I enjoyed this. It can be dark and disturbing due to the content, and it highlights the many unsolved disappearances in the USA. There are a few twists and many surprises.

  • Birnam Wood

    By Eleanor Cattan
    1 stars

I gave this 2 attempts. Scanned the first few pages as them monotonous but went back and tried them again (for more information) then once they got to the 'Birnam Wood Hui" that did my head in. I skimmed it, but gave up at the end of Part One. I had picked this up to read as it came highly recommended, but obviously not to my taste.
