  • The Mindful Parent

    By Shirley Pastiroff
    5 stars

I finally got around to getting this book from the library & reading it. Some great ideas on how to parent mindfully in the green brain - for the best outcome for both you & your kids! I will have to read through again & take some notes as there’s lots of really valuable ideas and strategies in these pages.

  • The unwinding of the miracle

    By Julie Yip-Williams
    3 stars

A sad and honest autobiography about a Vietnamese woman who was born blind & almost euthanised as an infant. The story follows her treacherous journey to the USA where she had life changing eye surgery aged 4 to allow her to see for the first time. She grows up in LA, travels the world (to all 7 continents), becomes a lawyer, wife & mother to 2 girls and is then devastatingly diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer! It is humourous, honest and sad. I didn’t always want to read on, but glad I did.

  • Hayley Holt Second Chances

    By Hayley Holt
    4 stars

A raw account of alcoholism and other strategies to cope with undiagnosed anxiety and adhd. Hayley's traumatic experience of her first pregnancy was simliar in some ways to my own, so it was an emotional read, but an interesting insight into a NZ celebrities life.
