Love D&D, thought this was really weak. Still, I am running the club so good to have a handle on.
Another recommended to me by students, so am reading what they are reading. Suspect this may turn up as a movie too.
Just working through this to improve my confidence and overall skills to ensure I am at a level I am happy with to support my classes
page 23 - " Wastewater testing suggested New Zealanders spend $1.4 million on the drug [meth], every single day"
Nice conclusion to the series
2nd book in the series, soon to be a movie series
Rules for table top wargames. Play on a Thursday night, thought I should read the rules!
This is a series of 4 adventures for the TTRPG Wrath and Glory by Games Workshop in conjunction with cubicle 7. I run a Wednesday night game (most weeks but usually every 2nd). As the GM this is the module we have been working through.
Was recommended to me by a student. We were discussing people living for 300 years, stem cells and the end of disease as we know it. She mentioned I should read this series. So spent a lazy weekend reading.... Interesting book, kind of predictable but still good. Interesting.
Really enjoyed this as some light but well written pulp
Found this much more predictable which took the shine off it a bit for me. Still good though.
Third time I have read this book. Always find myself wondering how I missed things the other times I have read it. Depressingly real, harsh, an a great indictment on war.
Enjoyed this far more than I thought. Really liked the authors style. I wanted some pulp to chill with and I ended up reading this in one sitting as I enjoyed it so much.
Started slowly and built well, like softened butter. Far more interesting than I thought it would be. The second part of the book was recipes. After the knowledge from the first part it was really interesting to read about butter fat, creaming processes and its application and implications in cooking. Read this on kindle, went and bought two paper copies, one for my daughter who is a wiz in the kitchen, another for a friend who is a chef. Thought it would help them take their culinary skills to the next level. Excellent book.
Follows the history from the Andes, the Aztecs, via Spain and then to Europe with Frederick the great and war pushing the potatoes into European cuisine and on to poor houses and more. Fascinating. It had a major impact on NZ history which is what attracted me to the topic. The musket made the conflicts of 1805-1835 lethal but the potatoe made it mobile. Its a total food source and quite amazing.
