I ugly cried through chapter 15. So good. Excited to study the text with my students.
Sequel to Six of Crows. Just started it - so far so good.
Oops. Accidently read this book without realizing there was a whole trilogy before this one. It probably would have made the beginning less confusing! Still really enjoyed the read.
I loved how different the book is to the film. The characters have the same traits; Sophie is still quite stubborn and Howl is completely vain. They added new characters like siblings for Sophie and a family in Wales for Howl. The Witch of the Waste had less of a presence and she had her own fire demon which was unexpected. Overall, good read, fun love story, and a great bit of magic.
Cried every bit of the way. Beautiful story about love, resilience and hope.
Great book! If you're a fan of Perks of Being a Wallflower, you'll enjoy this read. The main character, Jamie Orange, felt extremely relatable with his love of musicals and literature. It plays out as a YA novel but deals with heavy topics that left me teary-eyed more than once during my read. Def recommend
It was a very neat conclusion where everyone got their happy ending. The only downside was that the entire book was about the"final battle" between Percy and his nemesis Kronos, and I'm not usually interested in battle scenes/ war. It's my least favourite book in the series, but still a great series overall. Super charming!
It was a really cute read. The chapter titles are hilarious. I mostly picked up the series because my students kept telling me how great the books were. It's definitely made for a young audience but it's still an enjoyable read that brings the Olympian Gods to life.
