  • The Language of Trees

    By Katie Holten
    5 stars

A simply beautiful collection of texts about trees. The book itself is tall and narrow and the pages are printed in dark green ink with meticulously detailed drawings of trees, leaves, bark, seeds. Just holding it is an experience. Sigh... :)

  • The Mires

    By Tina Makereti
    5 stars

Couldn't put this down. I love the way Makereti develops her characters and scenes. Such an important work for the times we are in right now and hope for solidarity despite "this world of despair and terrible human characters". The lyricism of the swamp as a place of feminine power, beauty, life and tūpuna was also captivating. Great read!
