An interesting read. The twists and turns and technical details got quite complicated at different points but it came to a satisfying end.
I love this character! Orphan X is the ultimate assassin and it's always a good feeling to know that the character you have become invested in is also on the side of the 'goodies'. It was an interesting read given comments by Elon Musk over the past year about the risks that A.I. presents for society.
A great read! I found myself speeding up as I moved through reading the series for my second time around. It was a nice change from the crime drama or psychological thrillers that I often read.
I found I took a little longer to get caught up with this book of the series but maybe it was because I was reading over the Christmas period. I also found myself a bit skeptical about one of the plot twists, thinking it a little unlikely that the character would actually take the step they did. On to the next in the series regardless!
A 'Story Spinner' is someone who writes through someone from the past and when Cadi starts writing through Elen the book was difficult to put down. Elen was a princess living in 384 AD during the Roman era. I read the whole thing in three days - even though I had plenty I should have been doing to ready the house for Christmas guests!
This series is even better the second time around! It is up to 1812 and Hannah has come home without her husband or child. I love the way Donati hasn't shut all the options for there to still be a happy ending for part of this story. Getting to the end has sent me out to purchase the next in the series as I have discovered it's another one that I don't actually own.
Set in the early 1800's in an area close to today's New York city, this historical drama is captivating reading. 'Lake in the Clouds' is the third in the series and follows Hannah, Elizabeth's step-daughter as she continues her medical education and learns how to immunise people against smallpox. I originally read this series after it was first published in 1998. For enthusiasts of the 'Outlander' series, the little references to characters from Gibaldon's books are entertaining!
