Entertaining read and like his previous novels characteristic Irish humour adds warmth and colour the the characters. A good twist but great easy read.

  • The Four Winds

    By Kristin Hannah
    5 stars

Yet another great book by Kristin Hannah. This one set during the time of the Depression follows the challenges faced by an Elsa who represents the strength and courage of so many women that is not often recognised in important times in our history. Hannah describes in a gripping story the lengths a mother will go to for her children. You need tissues for this one!

Great read, beautiful descriptions of the landscape of of Ireland. The plot shows the challenges faced by women living in a society where they were seen as brood mares rather than as humans. Marriage was about staying in your lane and maintaining the strict order of society where men were in control and women needed to know there place! A sad story of how those rules impacted on the characters in life changing ways.

  • The Intention of Wings

Great read - two characters represent two perspectives during the slavery era in Charleston, one view is from the young slave girl determined to escape slavery and the other is from the young white woman who questions slavery and the role of women in a society where their role was very defined and controlled by religion and societal expectations.
