It's Agatha. Always going to get 5 stars.
Loved. But I am a History teacher so would have liked regardless. A little book giving the background to some of the amazing pieces at Te Papa.
Really quite enjoyed this. But did expect a murder waaaay sooner in the book. I will recommend though to some kids and fellow teachers who I think will enjoy.
If I could rate this book 100 stars I would. Written by an ex-colleague and friend of mine about being trans in NZ. They biked the length of the country in 35 days to discover NZ, but also to discover himself. Written in small extracts experiencing some of the wonderful small towns of NZ. I read many of them time and time again.
I don't know why I keep reading these, but I do. Sigh.
I give this 5 stars. And they shone bright. This book was given to my son on xmas day. I was delighted. He was like "yay". But actually he cared more about the fricken lego her was given. To be fair if I was a 9 year old, I would be to. He gave me permission to read and I LOVED.
It wasn't bad. I just think I am ready for this series to be over.
Not one of his usual crime/mysteries, but still enjoyable and keep wanting to read it.
Very, very good. I have had this on my bookshelf for months and wish I has read it sooner. Looking forward to reading the second one.
Took me forever to read and there could have been a quicker pace. But was pretty good.
Well Hello! I kind of always knew this was going to be a good read. Have always been a fan of Gareth Ward. Loved his Traitor series, and have read the first Tarquin (Loved, loved, loved.) But this was fantastic. I read in a day. I know Garth and Eloise are "not" the authors themselves, but great writing 'Eloise and Garth'. Bring on book two!
Once I got used to the main character's unusual ways, I enjoyed this book. Will def read number 2.
Needed a break from some quite intense murder mysteries. This was a nice take on Pompeii, a father and son escaping.
Realised half way through that I had already read this book (years ago.) However, could not for the life of me remember who was the killer and loved it just as much as I am sure I did the first time.
I love books from Preston and Child and this one certainly delivered. However, I am glad I have read others before this. It was slow to start and quite dark. However, the last 200 pages meant I could not put it down.
Great, great read. Best of the last few Kathy Reichs has done over the last few years. Thoroughly enjoyed after reading some teen stuff. Got me back into reading crime books.
Quite deep for a young teen book. But I did enjoy.
A good little read. Quite interesting how life was like for families living around lighthouses.
This book was recommended to me by a woman who owns a delightful little bookstore in Napier. I was not disappointed. Yes, for readers much younger than myself, but it was really sweet. Cannot wait to pass it onto a younger reader who I hope will enjoy it as much as I.
Tino Ataahua!!! I felt like I went on a journey with the author. Very moving and thought provoking. A must read. This was passed onto me by a wonderful colleague whose opinion around this kaupapa I always listen to. Can't wait to pass this on to someone else.
Very good. Along the same type of read a s those by Freida McFadden.
Superb!!! Will def be recommending this to students and teachers too.
Fantastic. I have been waiting a long time for the latest in this series and was not disappointed!
Cute. I hope there is another one!
I enjoyed this, but it was also a little odd...
First I have read of this author and I will definitely be reading more.
Lots of Fun!!!
Good for people beginning their journey around Mātauranga Māori and want to know some basic purakau of NZ.
Another fabulous book from India Holton. Cannot wait for number 2 in this new series.
